![]() I would argue that calling it 'just a pre-order' and comparing it to real licensed sellers like GMG is giving it legitimacy that it doesn't deserve. Its successor takes place 30 years after the apocalyptic blizzard storm, and Earth is still overwhelmed by the icy climate of neverending frost and harsh weather. It's not illegal (like, I could make an eBay listing for the next iPhone right now even though it's not available and I don't know what it's going to cost), but I can see why the devs would be saying 'errrr, don't order this'. Frostpunk 2 is the sequel to the highly acclaimed, BAFTA-nominated society survival game that blended city building, strategy and management gameplay, creating a brand new genre. It's just a made-up pre-order that could, for example, end up being a stolen key/scam. Dive into the harsh world of Frostpunk with the original soundtrack from the game, composed by Piotr Musia. They don't have a key, they're not licensed distributors and they don't know what the game is going to cost. If someone sees that Frostpunk 2 is announced and goes looking for pre-orders then it's the only place they'll find right now and it's basically users taking orders for thin air. As a dev/publisher, you don't really want that. ![]() If they devs don't even know what they're going to price the game at yet, it's pretty damn sketchy when some users pop up on grey market sites advertising pre-orders for the game. That's part of what they're taking issue with in their tweet. It's a user making up a price for a game that hasn't had it's price announced yet. We recently got the announcement of Frostpunk 2 - the continuation of the well-received strategy/survival game from Polish devs at 11 bit studios, where players battled freezing temperatures. ![]()
